As a fan of the Friday The 13th films I awaited eagerly to see the remake of the original film. I was not disappointed. The film is not a scene for scene remake but is instead a retelling of the story. The killer of this film is not Jasons' mother as in the original but Jason himself. Be warned: the Jason in this film is not the slow lumbering brute of the previous films but instead a fast and furious killing machine. With the right amount of gore to satisfy the gore lovers and enough T&A to satisfy the rest of the crowd Friday The 13th the remake is a welcome addition to the legend which is Jason Voorhees.

This was an awesome movie. People ding left and right. Pretty gnarley ways to die too. This is by far the best jason movie so far. I went and saw the premier and the entire crowd was screaming and clapping. You must go see this movie if you like good horror flicks. Although Im partial to Friday the Thirteenth movies (they are my favorite scary movies series ever) I cant wait to see this movie. The remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre was excellent and this is exactly that

Feb. 9 - I just attended the advance press preview of this 95-minute remake of the 1980 movie - and I must confess that I enjoyed this remake immensely - because:- 1) good production values 2) good performances overall by the capable cast - especially Jared Padalecki 3) good directing and good editing 4) good scary suspenseful scenes Although this movie is a remake, it is one of the better ones nowadays lately in the mindless horror/gory/scarefest genre. However, I was dismayed by the blatant nudity, overt sexual situations, and in-your-face drug use in the movie. Also, I felt that in some scenes the dialogue was lame and prosaic. I gave it a B because the movie did deliver on the suspense/horror/gory aspects. The minus is for the above - plus the fact that the ending DEFINITELY tags a sequel. VERDICT: A must-see for horror-genre fans - and for fans of the Friday The 13th movie franchise. Be prepared to grip your seat. Totally inappropriate for kids.

Listen up, anyone who actually knows what they're talking about will tell you the same thing I'm about to. It's not the 80's anymore, and what was scary back then isn't now. What worked in a movie back then won't exactly work today... This movie does a fantastic job of both updating, and restarting the series for today's audience. I'm not some new Friday the 13th fan just jumping on the Jason bandwagon; I've been watching these movies since I was a kid. I own all the originals and have seen them more times than I can count, I'm a true Jason fan, and this new installment is easily the best to date. They go with the classic Friday formula, kids in the woods, drugs, sex, and plenty of kills. But Jason has never been as threatening as he is now, and he's not even an unstoppable zombie yet. Now he runs, he's smarter, and less forgiving than ever... It's a "Must Go" in my opinion, but this is definitely not for everyone hence the "Go". Leave the kids at home folks, trust me.
